It’s Scraggy Sunday! Today we have Scraggy taking it easy in the ocean. This one was a little tougher to get right because I wanted to add the water effects. Plus, his head is at an angle that was a little weird to work with. Still, I got him to work and that’s what matters!

This flat-color vector work is really interesting and very fun. Scraggy makes a great subject for it because he’s made from a bunch of very simple shapes. I’m learning a lot about vector work in the process. So far I’ve enjoyed learning how to create depth without shading. It can be really tough sometimes. This picture is one where I definitely struggled.

It’s also weird not using lineart. I guess since it’s vector there is still line art, sort of. But it’s not the same as what I’m used to, which is odd — in a good way! I am enjoying this series not just for the Scraggy but as an exercise to get me to dabble in other art styles.

I can’t not smile when I look at this!
